Meet Karen Adams, Beginning Years Childcare’s new interim director. The Board of Directors hired Karen in May to replace Sandy Edmondson and will revisit hiring her on a permanent basis after the summer.
Karen was born and raised in Hailey, Idaho. As a child she was active in 4-H, rodeos and was a cheerleader.
She graduated high school and moved to Boise in 1990. She graduated as a Legal Secretary/Assistant from ITT Technical Institute and worked as such through her young adult years. She also has an Associate’s degree from CWI/CSI in graphic design.
Also in 1990, she became a Christian and attended Broadway Ave Baptist Church for 20 years where she taught Sunday School, helped with AWANA, served on the leadership team for a College & Career group, and went on mission trips.
Karen has worked in childcare for more than a decade, as a lead teacher, substitute teacher, and director where her daycare and preschool was selected as the KTVB Childcare Center of the Year. She worked as a teacher at Beginning Years for the last three years.
She now attends Heritage Bible Church and says her life verses are:
He has shown you what is good and what He requires of you, to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God!”Micah 6:8
Whatever is honest, just, pure, and praise-worthy, lovely and of good report, think upon these things.”Phil. 4:8
We pray that God would strengthen and guide Karen in her work with the Beginning Years’ families and staff, that He would enable her to be a blessing in this community.
