Pastor Dennis Retires

Thanks to everyone who made Pastor Dennis’ retirement celebration on May 31 such a memorable event!

We especially thank the Fellowship Team for arranging the meal, including the Novotny, Jenkins, Kohtz, and Ahrens families for providing the delicious BBQ. Thanks to Jean Novotny for organizing the program, Jill and the choir for leading us in song, for Chris Eden and the Sunday schoolers for singing, Calvin Miller who served as the program emcee, Sarah Schafer for creating the slideshow, and Toby Norton and team for the sound and slides during the program.

Pastor Dennis and Rachel have sold their Boise home and purchased a home in Hanna City, Illinois, where they will move by end of June.

We praise God for their time with us and ministry among us. God bless their move and settling in in Illinois.

Sunday, May 31, was a day filled with joy and delight tinged with a little sadness, as we spent time reflecting on how God worked in our time together, bringing us together for a season to make a difference in this world and in His Kingdom.

We want to thank you all for the love that was expressed throughout the morning and into the afternoon. In addition to the well-wishes, laughter and tears at church, we were overwhelmed by the love and encouragement we received later in the day as we read through the cards and notes you gave.

We will be praying that the Lord bring just the right pastor to continue His work, feeding and caring for the flock, and helping new folks feel welcome.

We will always have a special place in our hearts for Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.

As I said in my retirement letter, I can’t think of a better place to finish. We love you all, and look forward to when we might possibly meet again, as a former pastor and friend used to say, “Here, there, or in the air!”
