Beautiful Savior’s LWML encourages the congregation to help them fill at least two pickups with donated goods that Orphan Grain Train can distribute where and when needs appear. In August, the donations will be transported to the Nebraska Orphan Grain Train warehouse.
Meet Orphan Grain Train
Orphan Grain Train is a nonprofit Christian volunteer network that provides resources to people in need in the U.S. and around the world. For 32 years, OGT volunteers have donated items to meet real needs of those displaced by war, disaster, or are otherwise in need of care.

How You Can Help!

Volunteer
- Make cloth diapers with Meet & Make. Sewing, pinning and pressing help is needed!
- Help fill and label boxes for transport.
- Transport donations to Kimberly, Idaho, in August where they will be loaded and trucked to OGT in Norfolk, Nebraska.
- Donate any of the items that you no longer need, or use, listed below.
Donate new or gently used items
Infants’ supplies: diapers, layettes, and stuffed toys
Medical Equipment and Supplies
- Bed and bath linens, sheets
- Disposable gowns and gloves
- Hospital beds (hand-crank with vinyl mattresses)
- Prosthetic limbs
- Walkers, wheel chairs, crutches and canes
- Stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs & otoscopes
Hygiene Supplies (Hygiene Kit Instructions)
- Sanitary products for women
- Toothbrushes
- Diapers for adults and babies
- Towels and washcloths
- Bar soap
- Combs
School Supplies (School Kit Instructions)
- Back-packs (student sizes)
- New coloring books, crayons etc.
- New ballpoint pens and pencils
- Writing paper and notebooks
- Sports equipment such as soccer balls, bats, baseballs, ball gloves
Clothing
- Infant, children’s, women’s, and men’s clothing (gently used or new)
- Shoes (clean and wearable)
- Underwear (new only), all ages and sizes
- Socks (good used or new)
Quilts, comforters, blankets, towels, washcloths (all sizes)
Miscellaneous items including bicycles and sports equipment
Cash donations to pay for shipping
- The average cost to ship a box of donated goods is $11
- The average cost to send a shipping container overseas is $9,000.
